phcityThe New York Mets currently lead the Philadelphia Phillies by a half-game in the National League East and have the third-best record in the Senior Circuit. They are expected to be busy in the next two days.

7xmThe Mets have been hit hard by pitching injuries this season. Their bullpen in particular has needed some work.

acephFortunately, the Mets got to work on fixing their bullpen late on Wednesday afternoon. Options have been slim, but New York found a potential solution.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Mets have acquired right-hander Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants.

Rogers has been in the Major Leagues since August of 2019. He has spent his entire career with the Giants thus far.

The 34-year-old right-hander has been having a career year with the Giants this year. In 53 appearances, Rogers is 4-3 with a 1.80 ERA.

Rogers' identical twin brother, Taylor was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier on Wednesday, but Tyler will have the opportunity to pitch with a contender.

The Mets have needed bullpen help for much of 2025. Rogers is a free agent at the end of the season, but should be a huge addition for the Mets.

San Francisco has performed poorly since the Rafael Devers trade. They may now be in sell mode after a rough July.

It will be interesting to see if the Mets have any more bullpen moves coming. Rogers can be used in high-leverage spots late in games.
