tg777And the former Guardians' pitcher, newly acquired in a trade by the Blue Jays, was considering an unusual way of getting up north.

Possibly joking, but still.

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins shared that Bieber said he'd take a boat up to join the Blue Jays.

That might not be the way it actually works out. There's probably another rehab start in Bieber's future, anyway, likely with Triple-A Buffalo.

Bieber just made a rehab outing with Double-A Akron on Tuesday. He's continuing his comeback from Tommy John surgery in April 2024. The 30-year old Bieber went four innings for the Rubberducks, allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven. He threw 57 pitches.

The right-hander has made three rehab starts so far. He had a setback in his injury comeback in June, which pushed his first rehab outing to July 15, which he made in the Arizona Complex League.

Bieber then started last week for High-A Lake County before his outing with Akron -- which only came after his attempted slot at Triple-A Columbus was rained out, twice.

Of course, Bieber is a former Cy Young winner. Those days are in the past, but he still has a great chance to help the Blue Jays stay atop the AL East.

Put a different way: Bieber has to help the Blue Jays keep rowing the boat.
