winhqEarlier this week, Luka Doncic went viral after Men's Health magazine revealed photos and details from his weight loss journey this offseason.

60winDoncic appears much slimmer and in better shape than he was a few months ago.

og777He has a win-now mindset, and despite still being in the early stages of his career, he already sees an opportunity to win, wanting to capitalize while the chance is there.

Doncic was on The Today Show, where he talked more about his weight loss journey, including one of the shocking sacrifices he had to make to reach his goal.

What sacrifice did Doncic make?

Luka revealed that there was a period this offseason where '[he] actually gave up basketball for one month.'

He described that as something he's never done in his entire life since picking up a basketball.

Despite the time he missed playing the game he loves and plays for a living, it gave him the time and the opportunity to focus on getting into the shape he and the team wanted.

The attention to detail and new plan implemented seem to have worked well so far, as the difference in the before-and-after pictures shows just how quickly he was able to shift his physique.

Luka's size has led to criticism at times in the past, as he's never been known to be the greatest defender.

The Mavs even admitted to trading him to the Lakers because they were concerned about how he treated his body.

It'll be interesting to see how he plays next season. He's virtually a different person, since his size in the past has helped him be better in certain areas that he might have to navigate differently moving forward, with a completely new stature.
